crochet blanket, another charity shop find...

These were all stitched together into a cot sized blanket hanging up in the charity shop. I over heard someone make a disparaging remark about the "look" of the finish with it's ends unravelling and the lumpy bumpy appearance. My guess is that someone has learnt to crochet and made the classic mistake of not having the same number of stitches on each side giving the squares a fluted appearance and cut the ends too short to stitch in properly. But good on them for trying.
35 squares.....where could I buy the yarn for £1 ? blue green pink gold and white.....
all unravelled (frogged) ..........ready for me to ......? knit......? grannie crochet with a bit of white in the middle ?
I have plenty of things to do....to finish.....but I just loved the colours and I wanted to get cracking.......
....so I have a fall don't I.....digging up a stubborn dandelion root ! I landed rather heavily in an ungainly position with my hand at a daft angle ......so no knitting / crocheting for a while....so I'll ponder on my choices..... and eventually post a picture....
New to me books the 336 Ten Minute Quilt Blocks is full of inspiration and the Kids Country was in the children's section of the charity shop.........25p.... both great books and Lyn took home a Janet Bolton book Patchwork Folk Art to have a look at....I already have Grandmothers Quilt and Mrs Noah"s Quilt by her as well. Love her books...
